It is a mystery to many. I grew up in carburetors. They were still mysterious then. Today, I know more than most ever will.

Just evade the carburetor discussion by asking, "What, you mean a controlled fuel leak?"

As someone who has read a little about how they work, and actually dissected a real life carburetor, I'd like to think I'm qualified to answer Calvin's question. But when I actually have to try and explain it to someone... Yup still basically a mystery.

So true it hurts. I had no idea how to tune my Baja bug and that just had a single Solex carb. Some of the easiest to work with.
My Datsun has dual Webers and I have almost no idea what to do with them haha

Call me when you've learned the secrets of the Q-Jet. We have a lot to talk about.
So much of my life.. Gone..

This really is like the analog vs. digital thing, isn't it? (Carb vs. injection.) Analog circuity (which I was originally trained in) is still like magic to me.

I think the Q Jet was not invented by humans. It was put upon this earth by the devil himself.

In very basic terms it uses the vacuum that the engine creates to suck in fuel.
